The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) Programme contributes towards the Agriculture and Agro-processing Master Plan (AAMP) and the Comprehensive Rural Development Programme (CRDP), regarding skills development for the sector. A total of 18 786 youth have been skilled since the inception of the NARYSEC Programme in 2010, in various economic sectors including: Agriculture, Forestry & Fisheries; Finance, Real Estate & Business Services; Construction & Engineering, Energy & Water; Education & Training; Health, Safety & Security; Hospitality, Tourism & Manufacturing; Information Technology & Media; Mining & Quarrying; Transport, Storage & Communication.
The key objectives of the NARYSEC Programme are to:

• Recruit unemployed rural youth as part of the CRDP through the District Development Model (DDM) approach, working with national departments, provincial and municipal governments, traditional councils and private sector;
• Build capacity of rural youth through various skills development interventions critical for the sector;
• Facilitate the transitioning of recruited youth to participate in economic activities; and
• Provide post programme support to the youth that have exited the programme and link them to job and enterprise development opportunities.

The NARYSEC Programme is divided into four phases which the youth go through. These are inclusive of Phase 1: Targeted Recruitment; Phase 2: Induction Programme and Youth Leadership Development Programme; Phase 3: Skills Development at various TVET and Agricultural Colleges and Phase 4: Linking to Exit Opportunities.

The exhibition will assist in marketing the programme to the young people who dont have the means to pursue further studies.
